Wayne Bardsley
President and Chairman of the Board of Directors

Wayne Bardsley, President, and Chairman of the Board of Directors, founded Government Scientific Source in 1991. Government Scientific is now a national entity with more than 200 employees spanning six locations; including two sales-customer service distribution centers in Virginia and New Mexico, and stocking distribution warehouses in California and Tennessee. Bardsley’s prior experience includes positions at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Investment Company Institute, Calvert Group of Mutual Funds, and Newmarket Capital Corporation, a Northern Virginia mortgage banking organization. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a law degree from Boston University School of Law. Bardsley enjoys sailing, chess and duplicate bridge.

Mike Mendrysa
Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Mike Mendrysa, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, oversees the Sales, Customer Service, Marketing and Business Development teams at Government Scientific. He joined the company 25 years ago as a sales representative. During his tenure, Government Scientific has been nominated multiple times as the Small Business of the Year from the Department of Energy and was recently awarded the honor from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The company has also been given the designation by a NASA Johnson Space Center contractor during his tenure . Mendrysa graduated from a small liberal arts college in Ohio with a degree in Biology. He enjoys spending time with family, traveling and continuous learning.

Gretchen Pfaffe
Senior Vice President, Operations

Gretchen Pfaffe, Senior Vice President of Operations, oversees the Operations, Contracts, Compliance, and Vendor Management departments at Government Scientific. She joined the company in 1998 and has served as Sales and Customer Service Representative, Contracts Manager and Vice President of Contracts and Compliance. She has more than 20 years of experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations and Federal Contract Compliance, and she is an active member of The Coalition for Government Procurement. Pfaffe is local to the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area and is a graduate of George Mason University. She enjoys live music and travel.

Brandon Wieland
Vice President, Accounting

As Vice President of Accounting, Brandon Wieland oversees and manages the Facility Operations, Finance and Reporting departments at Government Scientific. Wieland has worked with Government Scientific for more than 15 years, first serving as an independent financial statement auditor before joining the Government Scientific team. He has previously served as a public accountant, executing financial audits, general ledger accounting, income tax filings, and financial consulting for a diverse portfolio of organizations. He holds an accounting degree from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Wieland resides in Olney, Maryland, with his wife and children.

Sarah DeBauge
Vice President, Investments

Sarah DeBauge joined Government Scientific in 2017 as Vice President of Finance before becoming Vice President of Investments in 2022. Her professional credentials include Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Treasury Professional (CTP). Sarah is from Parsons, Kansas, and attended Stanford University in California before settling in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.

Philip Farinelli
Vice President, Supplier Management

Phil Farinelli is Vice President of Supplier Management and has led the Supplier Management, Supply Chain Planning, and Purchasing teams since 2019. With more than 20 years of procurement and supply chain planning experience in the scientific marketplace, he collaborates with supplier partners to simplify the purchasing process and offer customers competitively priced products. Farinelli holds a degree in Business Marketing from Grove City College. He enjoys golf, volunteer work and time with his family.

Tony Nardei
Vice President, Business Development

Tony Nardei joined Government Scientific in 2016 as Sales Director before being promoted to Vice President of Business Development, where his focus is on nurturing relationships with the company’s supplier-partners. He has been recognized with multiple Salesman of the Year awards throughout his career, including for being among the top 5% of performers. He previously served in technical sales at Agilent, Beckman, and Millipore, among others, and holds a degree in Chemistry from Duquesne University. Nardei enjoys the arts with his family and friends.

Alfredo Garcia
Vice President, Logistics

In his role as Vice President of Logistics, Alfredo oversees the development and implementation of the company’s logistics across its four warehouses nationwide. He is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he oversees the ABQ operations department. He has been honored with the is a U.S. Marine Veteran and has been honored with the VWR International Presidents Award and the ThermoFisher Practical Process Improvement Facilitator Award. Garcia enjoys time with his two children and three grandchildren. He is a U.S. Marine Veteran.

Francisco White
Vice President, Purchasing

Francisco White, Vice President of Purchasing at Government Scientific, joined the company in 1997 as Purchasing Manager. He previously held the role of Assistant Vice President before being promoted to V.P. in 2003. He is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and has a rich history with an AAU Basketball Program in Maryland as its founder and former president. He is Financial Secretary for his fraternal organization and is a drummer in a Maryland-based band.

Jermain Brown
Vice President, Warehouse Operations

Jermain Brown, Vice President, Warehouse Operations, joined Government Scientific in 2001, previously serving as Assistant Vice President of Warehouse Operations. As Vice President, Brown oversees logistics and operations of the company’s Virginia and Tennessee locations. He is a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy. During his time in the Navy, he earned several awards including a Kosovo War Service Medal (1998), a Good Conduct Medal for years in service (2000), and several letters of commendation. Brown was raised in New London, Connecticut.
